Broadbanding

[ˈbrɔdˌbændɪŋ]
Definition:

Using extremely wide salary or wage increments, rather than smaller ones. For example, where one pay grade to another may have an increase of 15%, broadbanding may make this jump to 100%. These incentivises growth and development, streamlines the hierarchical structures, and encourages internal mobility rather than moving to another business.

One of the main advantages of broadbanding, is that it helps streamline the hierarchy structure within the organization; another thing that it does is that it facilitates and promotes the internal movement within the organization.

Broadbanding offers transparency and aids in trust management; this therefore is an advantage to the organization.
