[kənˈtɪndʒənt | stæf]
Definition:

These are employees placed by contingent recruiters in a non-permanent role that temporarily boost a company’s workforce. This may be for special events, seasonal work, or any other reason that requires temporary staff.

Contingent staff can also be referred to as freelancers, who complete a certain task within a period of time and collect their payment; hiring a contingent worker can help the organisation to achieve its goals especially because, most freelancers are specialist in a particular or a number of fields, so it adds a different value to the workforce.
