Grievance

[ˈɡrivəns]
Definition:

This refers to an employee being dissatisfied with their employer’s work conditions or policy due to a supposed violation of the law. This could be in an instance where the organization does not follow contract terms and is doing something contrary; the cause of this can also be as a result of an employee’s expectation not being met.

Employers must address grievance accordingly as it can cause a low performance within the organization which will mean that, it will affect the organization’s revenue and income. In an instance where there is a grievance, employers use a formal procedure to solve the employee’s concern with the final goal of reaching a resolution; the employee must firstly attempt to address their concerns informally via an open-door policy.
