Incidence Rate

Definition:

This is the number of incidents that occur within the workplace; organizations usually have a book to record all incidents to keep record of them and to also reduce the number if the rate is high.  

An Incidence rate involves the number of lost-time injuries, sick days and workers compensation events in a specified period. Organizations must ensure that a health and safety policy is put in place in order to appropriately deal with incidents that occur.
