Learning Management Systems or LMS are defined as software and online applications which are used to deliver training and development skills for employees. 

These are often linked to an organization’s intranet or Human Resources applications to track progress and retain training records in a central location. These may be locally installed or increasingly, offered as a cloud-based option.
