Morale

[məˈræl]
Definition:

This can be an incredibly opaque term, used by business coaches to optimistically point out the simple steps to boosting happiness and engagement among the workforce. In reality, boosting morale is less about isolated tasks and more about the long-term culture existing in the organization. It is almost impossible to measure, and almost as hard to identify cause and effect when things go wrong.

It can come down to the individual attitudes and practices of employees, or from as high up as scheduling, rostering or procedural changes. The organization needs to remain cognisant of discipline and motivation and the team and have enough flexibility to make minor adjustments in policy or workflows where necessary.
