The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), is a human resources membership organization, located in the United States.

This global organization provides information to managers and professionals in the field; it also provides certification, education and networking for its members.

What is the main aim of the SHRM?

One of the main aims of the Society for Human Resource Management, is to provide the professional development needed to upcoming and aspiring Human Resources professionals. This organization mainly works through  publications, legislative and research input to advance the interest of the Human Resources Sector. 

The SHRM conducts annual conferences in the United States (usually in June); the speakers at the conferences are specialists in the field, which provide valuable information for HR professionals. The society also sponsors additional national conferences which have a focus on legislation; at such conferences, the society features member networking, and a speaker with expert credentials who talk on a topic related to member interests. It also allows HR professionals a space to meet with others who understand what HR does on a daily basis.
