Definition:

This is a process of instructing and providing information, which prepares employees to perform better, in particular tasks that they have been assigned and to acquire higher level of knowledge.

Training and development is specifically created to enhance the skills and knowledge of employees; and to also provide instruction and information on how to perform better in their various roles; employers also conduct training and development in order for employees to develop a new skill or gain experience in a different department within the organization.
