Viral Marketing is an advertising technique that distributes word of a product or brand via highly engaging, shareable content that spreads quickly online.

This can rapidly increase a brand’s visibility, but it is very difficult to manufacture viral content. It is also important to identify any parts of the campaign that could be taken out of context to hijack the messaging.
