Wrongful Termination Checklist

[ˈrɒŋfəl ˌtɜːmɪˈneɪʃn̩ ˈtʃeklɪst]

A wrongful termination checklist is a process that an employer goes through to ensure that all federal laws and state laws have been addressed; employers must make sure that they abide by the rules and regulations within that particular country in order to avoid being sued for wrongful termination.

Employers must ensure to include to the wrongful termination checklist the following: go through the employment contract and ensure that there is a valuable reason for dismissal, having a confidential meeting with the employee, to request for a formal resignation letter (if they have not already provided one), and making sure and have a proper procedure in place in order to avoid a wrongful way of doing things.
